Welcome to the Family! HeirLoom's 1st Market Trip
Hello again lovelies,
I feel like so much has happened since my last blog post so naturally, I want to tell you all about it. Let's see, I guess I should tell you that HeirLoom by HerringStone's officially has doors, windows, walls, light fixtures and even electricity! I never thought I would find myself so excited over little things such as those- PROGRESS PEOPLE! Speaking of progress, I think you will be pleased to know that we have also began planning our GRAND opening and you will most certainly want to attend because it will be, simply put, AMAZING! We've got some ideas up our sleeves that we can't wait to share with you all closer to opening. However, I think the most noteworthy progress you will want to know about is the fact that we attended our first market for HeirLoom and purchased the most INCREDIBLE merchandise I've ever seen! (seriously, I know I'm bias here but our merchandise is perfection.) Market was by far one of the most amazing experiences I've ever had the joy of participating in and the fact that it's only the beginning of our market trips makes me so excited for our future!
When we (finally) arrived to Dallas at mid-night Tuesday night, Debbie, Cindy, Hanna and myself crashed into our warm hotel beds and didn't budge until we smelled fresh coffee brewing the next morning. After two (or three) LARGE cups of coffee we were dressed and ready for the day. I was secretly freaking out because I could finally get my hands on merchandise for HeirLoom but i played it cool, i think...Anyway, when the swinging doors to the Dallas market center opened, my eyes were instantly drawn to the 15 glorified floors of pure shopping bliss *insert Hallelujah anthem*. We checked in and got the day started. We ventured from vendor to vendor selecting the most adorable tops, dresses, bottoms, shoes, accessories, and the list keeps going. I mean my mind was blown. I kept thinking, "This is my life now-buying for my store, searching for the hottest and latest trends in fashion, and getting to enjoy free food in each vendor's showroom"-(that was the best part). I couldn't/ still can't believe it. Shopping is my JOB and OMG I'm in love with it!
We met with vendors, picked out merchandise for all of our locations, and before I knew it Day 1 was complete. I walked out of the market center feeling so accomplished and confident. Accomplished for the fact that I survived walking around the market center in heels for 7 hours, and confident in the trends we selected for opening day. When day 2 arrived, I was sure that it couldn't be any better than day 1...well, I was wrong. When we arrived to the market center we once again grabbed our coffee (and some mimosas) and began the day. All was seeming pretty familiar until we came to what I refer to as Heaven on earth- the Free People showroom. If there is one thing you need to know about me, you should know that my love (obsession) for the brand Free People is slightly outrageous. When we entered my heart skipped a beat because EVERYTHING in the showroom was insanely gorgeous, unique, perfect, fashionable... get the picture? We sat down and got to work. I wanted to cry because sitting there purchasing inventory for HeirLoom by HerringStone's was literally the best feeling in the whole wide world. The day only continued to get better when we stopped by the Show Me Your Mu-Mu shop and picked up more exclusive lines HeirLoom will carry. Be excited because the lines we picked up are PERFECTION for all ages. When we left the market center that night I was filled with excitement and anxiousness because I wanted the store to be open NOW in order to get all the goodies in the shop! However, knowing what's in store for you all on opening day makes me even more excited because it will be like Christmas morning x 5- I'm not kidding!
We wanted to celebrate Market coming to a close so we decided to try a new restaurant one of our close friends told us about. Little did we know we were going to have one of the best dinners to date. For those of you who live in or visit Dallas, TX often, I highly recommend going to Truluck's Restaurant downtown. We wined and dined ourselves all night and enjoyed the company of close family and friends. Our dinner was the perfect ending to our market trip and pretty symbolic for us as well. As we all sat there, Debbie, her husband Blake, Cindy, Hanna, her sister Haley, and myself I couldn't help but notice how lucky I was/ am to be able to be a part of everything this family has accomplished. Debbie and Cindy, the two sisters who began this journey 27 years ago, Hanna the one that continued to further the success of the family business, and then me- the one who will (hopefully) turn HerringStone's into something even greater were all united as not only partners but family. They have accepted me as part of the family- even though I've basically claimed myself a family member already- they have all guided me, help mold me, and now are helping me grow to become the best I can be as a young business woman. The admiration and compassion this family shows for each other, friends and their business symbolizes the same compassion and admiration you will all see throughout the journey of HeirLoom by HerringStone's. This amazing family will stand, now with me as an added leg, together in order to ensure HeirLoom by HerringStone's is the perfect addition to the HerringStone's family; (similar to what they did for me!)
This market trip (and sensational dinner) helped opened my eyes to God's amazing way of making dreams come true. It allowed me to see that his timing is always the best timing, and it also reassured me that he is always listening to our prayers. Our next market trip is quickly approaching (yay!) and I cannot wait! Debbie, Cindy, Hanna, and myself are all so excited to start receiving all of our merchandise so be sure to follow our instagram account if you haven't already in order to see when our arrivals come in! Follw @heirloombyherringstones to see everything! As always, thank you for taking the time to read about our latest updates. We are so blessed and lucky to have you all supporting our journey!
Stay tuned for more next month!
